Stealthcam i540ir Video Sample

February 22nd, 2009 by Deer Tracking Cameras

Here is a sample video from the Stealthcam i540ir infared digital game camera.  Sorry, this isn’t a picture of a monster buck.  This is just a sample to show the quality of the infared videos.  This video was originally shot in high quality, high resolution mode.  It was shrunk from 78 MB to 2 MB with video editing software.  There was some loss of quality when this occurred, so you can expect the actual video quality to be better.  Enjoy!

StealthCam I540ir Video

Here is some video I pulled off of my new StealthCam I540ir digital game camera.  This camera uses 36 infared emitters to shoot high resolution pictures or video at night.  The video can range between 10 seconds to 3 minutes, and you have the option of selecting the video resolution.  I had this video shooting at high resolution, and it consumed about 80 MB for my 1 minute video.  I will be dropping the resolution down tomorrow to fit more videos on my memory card.  It is safe to say that little quality is lost from shooting at the lower resolution.  Please note that I ran this video through a video editing application to drop the image size down to around 2.5 MegaBytes before hosting on my website.  I noticed some quality loss when I did this.  The original video was much sharper.  This should still give you a good idea of what this camera can do, even if it was set to record at lower resolutions.  Enjoy!

Buck Spooked by Human Scent

January 2nd, 2009 by Deer Tracking Cameras

Here is a quick video I put together showing some pretty cool video I caught on my game camera.  You have always heard about the power of a deer’s sense of smell?  Well this video shows it first hand.

I was building a house on the edge of a section of woods.  I had been seeing a bunch of deer in the area, so I set up my game cam behind my new house.  While looking at the videos from my Stealthcam, I noticed I had picked up one of the builders walking in the woods.  The next video was a couple of hours later, and showed a buck standing on the exact spot that the builder had walked.

Check out this little buck’s nose going crazy.  He has obviously picked up the human scent and has gotten very nervous.

Keep this in mind the next time you head into the woods to hunt.  A deer’s sense of smell is its best defense.
